The official language in Budapest is Hungarian. However, you will be able to survive with English in Hungary, especially in the cities. At Semmelweis University you can study in English or in German. This means that you will not need Hungarian language during your studies. However, you will need to take a Hungarian course, as you will deal with real patients during your clinical training. It is not necessary to have a perfect command of the language, but to be able to communicate with other people. That must be seen as an advantage, since each new language is an extra asset.

Transport:

Budapest verfügt über einen internationalen Flughafen, den man von vielen Städten in ganz Europa aus direkt erreichen kann. Alternativ kann man mit dem Auto, dem Bus oder der Bahn nach Budapest fahren. Die Autofahrt dauert etwa 8 Stunden von Berlin aus. Mit dem Bus braucht man etwa 16 Stunden. Möchte man mit dem Zug fahren, muss man mit mindestens 14 Stunden rechnen. Ein Flugzeug zu nehmen, ist also zeitlich definitiv am praktischsten.

In addition to this, the Gödöllo castle is a must in the city. It was built around 1740 and is the second largest Baroque castle in the world. In the surroundings there are countless little towns which are also worth to visit.
