Student Life in Bratislava

Language

The official language in Slovakia is Slovak. Nevertheless, you can get along with English and where applicable with German in the daily life in Bratislava, very well. Many inhabitants speak English very well, so that there should not be any language barriers, until you have mastered the local language. The study course will take place in English, so that there will be no communication problems.

Mobility

Mobility is no problem in Bratislava! The university is located in the historical center of the city, so that you can cover many distances afoot or with a bike. Otherwise there is a nicely built out local public transport network with streetcars, buses and trolleybuses, which you can use.

Accommodation

For students, who do not like to stay in the dormitory “Druzba” of the university in Bratislava, there is of course also the possibility to rent an own apartment or a room in the city center or in other parts of Bratislava. We will be glad to help you with the apartment search and maybe we can also find roommates, among our other applicants for this university, for you.

Sports & Recreation

The university offers, with many establishments, several possibilities to do sports. Beyond that, the city offers many opportunities to do indoor and outdoor sports. Here many different facilities, clubs and courses are available, which you can use. Especially soccer, ice hockey, basketball, handball and volleyball are popular.

As an international university city, Bratislava provides a range of offers in various fields. Besides many different restaurants, and also a large number of bars, the city has many trendy clubs, cinemas and shopping malls. Thus, there are no boundaries to your leisure activities, so that you can enjoy the time alongside your studies to the fullest.
