Pre-Medical Course for Medical Students – Pavol Jozef Šafárik

Do you want to study Medicine? Do you want to prepare optimally? Would you like to start your degree relaxed and with a good feeling?

The University Pavol Jozef Šafárik (UPJS) offers future Medicine and Dentistry students a two-semester Pre-Medical course.

The Pre-Medical course will give you an overview on medical subjects in order to allow a smooth start in your degree. You will learn theoretical and practical principles which will help you to better understand and acquire the subject knowledge taught in the degree.

The course lasts 4 months and it includes lectures, seminars, and practical lab training, with biomedical basic knowledge and principles of nature science. The course is equal to upper secondary school advanced science courses and and prepares you to study Medicine or other medical degrees.

The subjects taught include:

• Introduction to the Anatomy and Physiology of Human Beings
• Biophysics
• Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
• Biochemistry

The course is completed with language courses in Medical English and Slovak. The University Pavol Jozef Šafárik guarantees a place in Medicine, or any other degree the students may choose at this Faculty, to all students who pass the course.
