MSA Students Work with the Simodont at the Universidad Europea Madrid

Simodont UEMAs every year, the MSA students, who will start their dentistry studies this winter semester at the Universidad Europea Madrid, got an introduction at the university by our study advisors during the last week. Thereby, they visited the city, the whole campus but most importantly the Faculty of Dentistry with its state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. During the campus tour and the first days in Madrid, the students got the chance to get to know each other and socialize. The apartment search was also started with the help of our study advisors and on-site real estate agents.

Simodont UEMA special highlight of the tour on the campus: the „Smart Lab“ of the Faculty of Dentistry. In the “Smart Lab”, the future students were able to work on the highly modern Simodont, a dental treatment simulator, after they got a quick introduction for it by a professor of the UEM. The Simodont, with which the students of the UEM work regularly, gives realistic dental simulations in 3D and also includes the haptic during working. With the help of the simulator, the students get the same feeling as if they were handling the different instruments in real life when working on a patient.

With this simulator, the students of the UEM are prepared for the clinical phase in the best possible way. Beyond that, the simulator gives the lecturers the chance to monitor and retrace the whole work process of the students and not only evaluate the finished work. The simulator is one of the most modern simulators in the field of dentistry. The UEM is one of very few universities worldwide, that owns these simulators for dentistry student. In the following, you will find videos that introduce the Simodont:

Our MSA students had a lot of fun during the days at the Universidad Europea Madrid and in the city. Familiarizing with the university and the other students has, as many students say, helped them to look ahead at the start of studies in September with a lot of contentment and serenity.
